To celebrate the opening of Kirklees Libraries' new Library Hub in Dewsbury, the community came together to enjoy a day of stories, entertainment and music.
Past Truisms' Christina Longden was invited to the event to tell the story of Robert Stanley, 'Ordinary/Extraordinary' Victorian grocer whose life took a trajectory that nobody could have imagined.
After the talk, Christina chatted with author Samina Uddin whose book 'From Delhi Nights to London Lights - a Daughter's Loving Memoir to her Father' describes yet another overlooked life of a man who was a proud British citizen - richly decorated in historical happenstance; the sort of every day 'extraordinary' that we all yearn to hear more about!
