Our recent event held in Lockwood, Huddersfield was quite the success! During the course of a very rainy afternoon, over 170 people from across different areas and community backgrounds attended the Unity Centre. The audience heard about the history of Lockwood - once a glorious Victorian spa town - from Ian Stevenson of the Huddersfield and District Family History Society (the local ice cream shop is now housed in what was once the Town Hall!) Heritage and Community Connection!

We are thrilled to announce that we recently received a small grant from the Holme Valley Parish Council, so that we can bring communities in the area together in a friendly and supportive learning environment. Our Yorkshire Dialect clubs will be open to all - regardless of background or knowledge of Yorkshire dialect and heritage. We are currently planning for the dates of these classes to begin in Janurary 2026 ... and we will keep you posted!
