Yorkshire Emoji Campaign
We’ve recently been working with communities in both Yorkshire and Lancashire about their dialect and accent differences, and now some Yorkshire folks we collaborate with have boldly decided to campaign for a YORKSHIRE EMOJI to gain more global visibility. :-) This fun (but important) new campaign has been kickstarted by the young people involved with the Yorkshire Dialect Society. The audience heard about the history of Lockwood - once a glorious Victorian spa town - from Ian Stevenson of the Huddersfield and District Family History Society (the local ice cream shop is now housed in what was once the Town Hall!) Following this came the story
